In 1984 he was hired as an illustrator by Aeroespacio, a public Argentine
Air Force magazine, that stimulated and encouraged his still burgeoning
professional career. During those years he also illustrated The Malvinas
War Encyclopedia; Spanish edition.
He also began college studying Aeronautical Engineering for a while, but
he soon left to continue his work as an illustrator and artist.
Mr. García eventually earned a Designer Diploma and started his own
publishing business in 1994 producing "Alas de América y del Mundo" a
professional level magazine dedicated to topics of aviation and
aeronautical matters. He sold his publishing business in 1996. The
following year he was awarded a long hoped for contract from Aerolíneas
Argentinas to produce a portfolio series of paintings of historic
company aircraft.
Amazingly, Mr. García never did
any school grade of drawing and painting. His splendid technics
were developed just through hands of experience
On 1998 he got a new contract from
MC Congresos y Exposiciones to print booklets and illustrated
papers over Aviation Show South America (ASSA) 1999.
Middle of 2000 he applies and gets
his qualification as the first Southern American artist member
of the American Society of Aviation Artists.
Same year he won another contract
from Pegasus Aviation Inc. (USA) to produce ten oil paintings
that the company will present to airline CEOs, bankers and VIPs.
Either in 2000 the Argentine Post
Office requests to Mr. García several stamp designs to celebrate
the Birth Centenial of Antoine de Saint Exupery, a French writer
and pilot.
Later on, he painted for Consultair,
delivering a set of aircraft profiles on the 50th Anniversary
of Aerolineas Argentinas and, in 2001, another set on the history
of commercial aviation; both sets were composed digitally.
In 2001 he is commissioned by the
AIRPAC museum, U.S.N., delivering two oil paintings:
one about Top Gun and one about Vietnam Ace Randy "Duke Cunningham
(currently a US Senator).
Argentine Army Aviation has distinguished
Carlos García as its "official artist", his paintings can be seen
in all of its units.
Also in 2001 he delivered, after
a request from Marcos Torres (Goodyear Argentina) a set of profiles
for the Uruguayan Airforce, while delivering a painting specially
ordered by Helicopteros Marinos.
In 2003, the Argentina Air Force
commissioned the artist to illustrate all airplanes used by the
Argentina Armed Forces in Malvinas War for its site.
In 2002 he won the corporate design
contest for the newly formed Aerovip Airline (Argentina).
